Hello all. I am Terrence Lui. I am the Director of Technology and Program Management for the Monetization division at Oversee.net. What that means is that I get to use an array of technology to solve some of the biggest, most intriguing problems on the internet today. Oversee.net has a very unique and interesting view of the web. This does not just come from the fact that we sit in a gorgeous building forty four stories above the Los Angeles skyline (see picture of actual view above). It comes from the fact that Oversee.net manages one of the biggest networks on the internet. In any given month, Oversee.net sees over 300 million unique users. It processes in excess of 2.5 billion events. It has over 10 million domains under management. And because it is a global company, Oversee.net’s network is operational 24/7/365. These are big numbers. Because of this, we have had to develop innovative solutions to reach this scale.
All of these challenges give the Oversee.net technology team an opportunity to flex its engineering muscle to develop elegant solutions to big problems. We approach each of these big problems as a chance for us to learn and create new opportunities. We are extremely proud of the work that we do and believe some of the problems we are solving would be helpful to the technical community at large. To that end, we have created this blog.
On Regularly Expressed, we hope to open up a dialog both with our customers as well as those who are interested in the problems that we solve. We will regularly discuss some of the technical solutions we have deployed (like a brand new Enterprise Data Warehouse) and some of the best practices we employ to develop software at scale. If you can think of anything interesting that we should discuss, please drop us an e-mail.

You should change your wordpress permalinks structure to a custom field, such as:
%postname%.html that way your blog posts will have a big great weight in search engines. Great idea for a blog too by the way.
Great point Adam. I always forget that the default WordPress installation does the absolute worst things with permalinks. I’ve started a few blogs in my day and this isn’t the first time I have forgotten to do this. Should be taken care of now.
That is a gorgeous picture.
It was taken by one of our developers, Joseph Trinh. Just one of the many talented individuals we have on our development team.
Terrence, congrats on the launch of your blog. It looks like you’re off to a great start! I thought it was funny that when I clicked the Facebook Like button at the top of the article, the text changed to say “You Like A Big Problem”.
